BLUES

Today we will look over your practice AP tests and talk about intros and thesis statements.
If we have enough time we'll also discuss the sestina and pantoum form.

Homework:

Research the form of a blues poem and bring one blues poem to class to read out loud and share. You should read Langston Hughes "Weary Blues" or "The Morning After"

Also - if you haven't research a literary device for last week. You need to do that tonight if you want credit.

ps: Robert Johnson - according to legend - sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads. AP students are sometimes tempted to do this in order to pass the poetry section, but don't go to extremes (yet!).
